Sunrise Kiwanis – The Kiwanis Shoes for Kids Project begins June 19 and continues for 5 weeks. Burnt Store Presbyterian Church – BSPC is pleased to invite our community to meet Corrie ten Boom on June 14 from 9:30-10:30 am. You will learn about Corrie (as portrayed by Karla Chandler), her efforts that saved over 800 Jews during World War II, her imprisonment in a concentration camp and her world-wide evangelistic campaign following the war. 31st Annual Freedom Swim: July 4
This year’s Freedom Swim will be begin at 9 am at Live Oak Park. The crossing to Harpoon Harry’s will take 40 minutes to three hours. There will be no trolley service.
Funding Approved For New Aviation Technician Facility
The Charlotte County Airport Authority is pleased to announce that $3 million was approved in the Florida State Budget for a new combined hangar and classroom facility for Charlotte Technical College’s FAA-certified Aviation Maintenance Technician School. Catalytic Converter, Unlocked Vehicle Thefts On Rise
The Charlotte County Sheriff’s Department reminds residents to always remove your valuables, key/key fobs and guns and lock your doors. Some of the most targeted vehicles include RVs, F-Series trucks, Toyota Prius, 4runner and Tacoma, Kia Sportage, Mitsubishi Outlander and large box trucks to include moving type trucks. Check with your mechanic and ask if they will etch your VIN# onto your catalytic converter.
